Born in Alba (Italy) in 1970, he moved to Turin in 1989 where he studied Philosophy, and Film History at the Università di Torino. In 1999, he began his collaboration with the Torino Film Festival, which continued until 2021. Within the TFF, he created a new section called TFFdoc, featuring both an Italian Documentary Competition and an international one. From 2002 to 2009, he also worked as a programmer for the Turin-based queer festival Da Sodoma a Hollywood, where he curated several retrospectives, including a complete retrospective dedicated to Rainer Werner Fassbinder. From 2014 to 2019, he served as co-director of Doclisboa in Lisbon, where in 2019 he curated the first retrospective dedicated to Jocelyne Saab. Since 2022, he has been based in Berlin and collaborates with the World Cinema Fund, the Gwaertler Stiftung, and other institutions.
